Parent and child placements are provided to parents and their children in order to give them the best opportunity of staying together in care. Most commonly, placements are for mother and baby but they can also be for the father or older children. Carers need to be aware of the different needs of both parent and child. This course looks at these, as well as developing the tools the carers will need to support the developing parenting skills of the young mother or father.
