Because carers often encounter young people who use self-serving manipulative tactics, it is vital that they discern such tactics and manage them skilfully. Otherwise carers may unwittingly respond counterproductively to these manoeuvres, thereby permitting young people to impair the helping relationship and undermine progress. This course looks at how carers can eliminate these behaviours, and why young people might display manipulative behaviours in the first place.
