It is largely understood that working with children requires a great many skills - and direct work with children and their families is especially delicate. This course will look at providing learners with practical skills and theoretical underpinnings to assist with assessments and ongoing work with service users.
The use of the “Signs of Safety” tools requires focused and reflective assessment and care planning and much of the course will focus on both the reasoning and the direct tools used in this work. It will look at the ‘Three Houses’ tool as well as other models to enable children to express feelings to assess strengths and concerns within families.
This course meets the Training, Support, and Development Standards as outlined in The Fostering Services (England) Regulations 2011.
