CSE has featured in the press and in wider media throughout the UK since issues were uncovered in Rotherham – however, the way CSE has been reported and described has been consistently stereotypical. This course utilises real media examples and research from forensic psychology to present evidence showing just how biased the media is when it comes to reporting sexual violence – and the impact this has had on the field of CSE. This course will challenge the commonly held assumptions, myths, and beliefs about CSE victims, perpetrators, methodology, and context.
